Ajapeu Lodge Shines At Section NE-5 Conclave

Ajapeu Lodge 2 made its presence known in the new Section NE-5 at its first Conclave at Forestburg Scout Reservation.

With nearly 500 people in attendance, Ajapeu Lodge's 56-member delegation to Conclave over June 9-11 was the largest of any lodge except for the host lodge, Na-Tsi-Hi Lodge of Monmouth Council. Lodges from all across New Jersey and Pennsylvania attended, as well as Yokahu Lodge from Puerto Rico and Black Eagle Lodge from the Transatlantic Council. Other event attendees included the Order of the Arrow National Chief Forrest Gertin and several past national officers.

Lodge members got to experience training seminars taught by some of the best experts the Order has to offer, and spent the rest of the weekend enjoying the brand of Brotherhood and Fellowship that is unique to OA events. Lodge members made use of the camp's rifle and archery ranges, games, and even a monkey bridge erected over the camp's lake! Ajapeu also got to take home some hardware, winning four out of five awards for ceremonial teams, including best overall team! Conclave also featured two evening shows, which included skits by Forestburg Scout Reservation's camp staff and a spoof of the hit show Saturday Night Live featuring many members of the section leadership. Saturday night concluded with a brotherhood bash, which included good food and plenty of activities, including a "Hot Sauce Challenge" that helped promote next year's event.

The event culminated on Sunday, June 11, when Lodge Chief Jeremy Bedient was elected to serve as the section chief for Section NE-5, the top youth leader in all of Area 5. While this means that Jeremy will be stepping down as lodge chief, we know that Jeremy's leadership will guide the section to new heights!

Miss out on all of the fun? The next Section NE-5 Conclave will be June 8-10 at Resica Falls Scout Reservation, hosted by Unami Lodge, One. Make sure you also check out our lodge calendar for information on how to register for future events!
