Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. Along with Scoutmaster Specifics, this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Boy Scout Troops and Varsity Scout Teams, in order to be considered "trained".

The Facility's sponsoring organization (LDS Church) has requested that coffee and tobacco be not used on the premises or grounds. 

  1. Please review the Resources tab for a list of equipment needed for the training 
  2. Meals limited to; cracker barrel for Friday evening, breakfast, and lunch only for Saturday (Friday and Saturday dinner on your own)
  3. Pre-Requisites: Registration with the BSA, desire to learn and have fun!!! - please wear your full scouting uniform during the course
  4. Overnight camping required in order to pass the course
