Key points:

  • Online registration is accessed through the leader’s my.scouting account.
  • Process is based on “Key Role” positions so the Unit Leader’s contact information MUST BE CORRECT in their my.scouting profile.
  • Applications for new youth can be started three ways: BeAScout site, Unit’s specific URL or Scan QR Code.
  • Once applications are reviewed and approved, the unit indicates whether they want to pay the registration fee and BOYS LIFE using a credit card, check or their Unit Deposit Account (UDA) at the Council Service Center (if applicable). For credit card payments, once the application is submitted, the scout is officially registered, the unit leader can print a membership card and the family will receive a welcome email.
  • Should a unit select the credit card method, only the prorated registration fee will be collected.Unit membership dues and unit accident insurance would be collected separately.
  • If a unit chooses to pay by check or use their UDA account, the application is forwarded to the Council Office for processing.
  • This process will only be available for New Youth members. The system will not accept transfers or Adult Applications.
  • Unit Leaders will be able to designate application roles to other registered leaders in their unit.
