Advancement and Recognition

The Washington Crossing Council Advancement Committee, in conjunction with the district advancement committees, is responsible for the oversight of the Boy Scouts of America's Advancement Programs in the council.  Chief among its responsibilities are enforcing the policies listed in the BSA Guide to Advancement (33088) Adobe Portable Document Format.  The council advancement committee also handles such matters as Lifesaving and Meritorious Action Awards, registrations beyond the age of eligibility, Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year awards, and appeals of adverse decisions of Eagle Scout Boards of Review, among others.  District advancement committees are the front lines for answering advancement questions, and handle merit badge counselor registration, Eagle Scout project approvals, and more.
